Background New York City Chapter-TU was founded in 1968 and has almost 900 members. Although New York City doesn't have home waters inhabited by salmonids to focus on, NYC TU is going to try to protect our region's natural resources from the various threats facing them. We hope you will find our chapter worthy of your financial support; we will ask for it. These funds will be aimed at projects we administer and we may also grant money for specific needs of the NYS Council of TU or other TU chapters. Another part of conservation is education, and we hope to become more involved in the Trout in the Classroom program with educational visits to schools. (Read the TU Mission here.)   Activities Our chapter holds quarterly meetings at Blackstones Pub, 52 St (between 2nd and 3rd Ave.) We publish our newsletter quarterly as well. Our board and conservation committee examine conservation issues and projects, mainly in the New York City watershed and chooses ones for us to work on. The main way we help is to fundraise and give grants where we think it will do the most good. The New York City chapter also holds a casting clinic in central park, an open fly tying session at Orvis NYC and an annual trip to the Catskills.   NYC TU BOARD MEMBERS: John Field- President John Gilliland- Vice President Michael B.
